How Do You Install Linux Alongside Windows 8 Without Corrupting The Windows 8 Boot Configuration?

Windows 8 Drops To 7.53% Market Share, Windows 8.1 Takes 1.72%

There's one aspect of the Games Hub that has us completely puzzled. The spotlight panel features a large list of gaming options that Microsoft wants to promote, but tapping on the links take us into a link on IE10. From there you can click on another link that will take you into the Windows Phone https://www.ehctech.org/services/pc-optimization/ Store, but we have a hard time understanding why we need to be routed into the browser. We'd rather be taken either directly into the Store or at least a page within the Hub that loads faster and shows your options in an efficient manner. Take the middleman out of it. Though the People app isn't new , per se, it got a facelift before Microsoft signed off on Windows 8. In addition to scrolling through names in alphabetical order, you can link your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts and view your notifications all on one page. https://www.ehctech.org/services/pc-optimization/ You can also check out a "What's New?" page to see what your friends are posting. As ever, linking our various accounts was a painless process that took about a minute, all told. For more screens, be sure to check out the gallery further up the page. Windows Store

What you have here is an onscreen keyboard on which you can play chopsticks to your heart's content, but there are also a handful of bundled classics (think "The Entertainer") that you can play along to in a kind of instrumental karaoke. You can also record and save whatever tunes you've made https://www.ehctech.org/services/pc-optimization/ up. In the case of those pre-installed songs, specific keys will glow blue when you're supposed to hit them but, as you can imagine, this is tedious and un-fun if all you've got at your disposal is a mouse. As with Paintplay, we imagine this would make for a better time-waster on a tablet.

New security features in Windows 8 include two new authentication methods tailored towards touchscreens ( PINs and picture passwords), 65 the addition of antivirus capabilities to Windows Defender (bringing it in parity with Microsoft Security Essentials ) 66 SmartScreen filtering integrated into Windows, 67 and support https://www.ehctech.org/services/pc-optimization/ for the "Secure Boot" functionality on UEFI systems to protect against malware infecting the boot process 68 Family Safety offers Parental controls , which allows parents to monitor and manage their children's activities on a device with activity reports and safety controls. 74 Online services and functionality edit.

Microsoft has redesigned the Windows Store to make it look more like a place to find the best apps and less like a context-free white pages of everything available. Where the Windows 8 version of the store had a few spotlighted apps and then showed all the app categories as you scrolled to the right, the new store has one general spotlight column, along with a set of personalized picks, trending apps, and a list of top paid and top free apps. When you bring up the app bar, you can navigate to categories such as Photo, Games, News & Weather and Finance.

To continue my fine tradition of optimizing MS’s latest OS, I have here my findings to date. This information is based upon the Desktop versions of Windows 8. The tablet (x86 and ARM) versions will take time updating as I do not have access to any of those devices and in all honesty, https://www.ehctech.org/services/pc-optimization/ I cannot afford to purchase two tablets “just for testing” purposes or to find out it is not even possible to adjust on tablet versions. If you desire to see these configurations listed in the tables, Donate and the money generated will go directly to purchasing these items.
